Director of Marketing Communications

General Responsibilities

  • You’ll assist in developing the department’s strategic plan, including setting out goals for each strategic area and outlining a plan for achieving those goals
  • You’ll develop and recommend an annual plan for the department in collaboration with the Lead Team. This plan will be developed in the context of the church’s strategic and operating plans and should support the objectives of those plans
  • You’ll present data-supported weekly updates on the performance of strategies and activities
  • You’ll provide strong, effective, and highly visible leadership to the Marketing and Comm team, empowering staff to identify innovative approaches to meet the growing need
  • You’ll be responsible to develop and implement an annual, strategic calendar that maximizes the impact of the church’s message
  • You’ll direct market research in order to keep on top of changing demographics in order to evaluate marketing strategies and to monitor emerging issues

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication or relevant field, and 10+ years combined senior management and communication experience in an organization involving a significant number of people
  • Strong communicator with excellent written, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and influence others
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, having excellent judgment while working in a changing environment
  • Experience in Salesforce, data dashboards, and Google Analytics
