Conversation Starters

  • The Bible doesn’t talk about Jesus’ teenage years. What’s one teen memory you’d want written in the book of your life?

  • The month of May is officially here! What are you looking forward to this month?

  • If we had a karaoke machine, what would be your go-to song?

Discussion Questions

  • Share a pet peeve that tempts you to feel frustrated.

  • Pastor Robert broke down two types of angry people: erupters and stuffers. Which one do you identify with and why?

  • Read 2 Kings 5:11. Share a time you got angry when what you thought was going to happen didn’t. How did you overcome that moment?

  • “You can’t look at anger, you have to look under it. There’s always something deeper.” Name something that has made you feel angry or frustrated this week. Now take a closer look at it. Can you identify the root of the frustration?

  • “Servants always start miracles.” Share one way you can serve someone else this week.

  • Read Ephesians 4:26. In this scripture, Paul reminds us not to hold on to our anger. What is a frustration you can give to God in prayer this week?

  • We don’t have to get rid of anger, we just need to put it in its proper place. Name one way you can use your anger to push you into a positive action this week. (e.g. If you’re angry about injustice, what organization can you serve this week? If someone made you angry, how can you pray for them?)

Act On It

Don’t go off this week! Set a reminder for each of the seven days of the week and spend intentional time in the presence of God. Pray about your frustrations from each day and ask God to restore your peace and joy.

Prayer

Father, thank You for teaching us how to manage our anger. No matter what we are faced with, You can restore every area of our life. Help us to focus more on Your promises than our problems. Show us how we can serve others and experience miracles in our toughest moments. In Jesus’ name, amen.
