More Than A Meal
Passover wasn’t just a holiday dinner; it was a story told with food.
For Jewish families, this meal was a yearly reminder of how God rescued His people from slavery in Egypt. Every part of the meal had meaning. Every detail pointed to the same truth: God sees, God saves, and God keeps His promises.
So when Jesus chose the Passover as His final meal with the disciples, it wasn’t accidental. It was intentional. He showed His disciples that the rescue story they had celebrated for generations was actually pointing to Him all along.
That’s why Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19). He wasn’t just asking them to look back. He was inviting them to remember Him as they gathered around the table and to prepare their hearts to experience God’s saving grace in a new and personal way.
