What We Are Learning In Babies :: January Week 2
We’re Learning… I can love like Jesus.
Bible Story: A Short Man (Zacchaeus) ● Luke 19:1-10
As a family, read “A Short Man (Zacchaeus)” in Luke 19:1-10 from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together:
Memory Verse Activity:
Activity Supplies: Playlist
Before the activity, practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.
“Love each other (hug self)
as I (point up)
have loved you.” (point to self)
John 15:12b (open hands like a book)
Play music from the playlist and have a dance party.
After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
Lead them in saying the memory verse with the motions.
After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can love like Jesus?” and encourage your toddler to say, “I can love like Jesus!”
Then lead your toddler in prayer:
“Dear Jesus, thank You for loving us! Please help us love others the way You do. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚
In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “If Jesus Lived Inside My Heart.” If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
