We’re Learning… God cares for me.
Bible Story: Jesus Teaches People ● Matthew 5:1-12; 6:25-34

As a family, read “Jesus Teaches People” (Matthew 5:1-12; 6:25-34) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Song Activity:

  • Say, “Let’s sing a song to help us remember God cares for us!”

  • Lead your toddler in singing the song below to the tune of “If You’re Happy and You Know It.”

God cares for us, yes He does! (clap, clap)
God cares for us, yes He does! (clap, clap)
God cares for us,
each and every single day.
God cares for us, yes He does! (clap, clap)

God cares for us, yes He does! (stomp, stomp)
God cares for us, yes He does! (stomp, stomp)
God cares for us,
each and every single day.
God cares for us, yes He does! (stomp, stomp)

God cares for us, yes He does! (“Hooray!”)
God cares for us, yes He does! (“Hooray!”)
God cares for us,
each and every single day.
God cares for us, yes He does! (“Hooray!”)

NOTE: You can also put all three actions together for a fourth verse. (clap clap, stomp stomp, “Hooray!”)

  • After the activity, say, “Remember, God loves you so much, and He cares for you. Who cares for you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God cares for me!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, we’re so thankful for all the ways You care for us. Please help us remember no matter what, we can trust You because You care for us. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “God Cares For Me” by Kristen Wetherell. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
