July Overview: Kids will face moments that feel scary, confusing, or hard. This month, they'll discover they don’t have to face those moments alone — God is with them and gives them strength in hard moments. Through stories of Gideon, David, Moses, and Hagar, kids will learn trusting God isn’t just about how we feel — it’s about what we do. Because God is with them and gives them strength, they can trust Him and take the next step, even when they feel afraid, sad, stuck, or alone.

Bible Story: God Sees Hagar (Genesis 21)
Main Point: When I feel alone, I can trust God and take a step.
Memory Verse: “The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

This week, kids learned about Hagar, who found herself alone in the desert. She may have felt forgotten, helpless, and afraid, but God saw Hagar right where she was. He cared for her, provided what she needed, and showed her what to do next. This story reminds us that even when we feel alone, God sees us and cares about what we’re going through. We can trust that He is still working in our situation and will give us what we need.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What are some things Hagar might have been feeling when she was in the desert?

  2. How did God care for Hagar and show her what to do next?

  3. How does it help you to know that God sees you and cares about what you're going through? How can that help you take a step?

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Tell your kid, “You are never alone — God sees you, cares about you, and is with you today.”

  • While You’re At Home: Talk about a time when God helped to encourage you when you felt lonely or forgotten.

  • As You’re On The Way: Ask, “What are some ways we can remember God is with us the next time we’re feeling alone?”

  • When You Lie Down: Pray, “God, thank You for seeing us and caring about us. Help us trust You when we feel alone and remember You are always with us. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
