June Overview: Summer is full of adventure, and sometimes adventure feels uncertain. Throughout this series, kids are learning that no matter what they face — fear, sadness, doubt, or loneliness — God is faithful. We may not always know what’s ahead, but we can trust the One who does. God’s got this!

Bible Story: Gideon (Judges 6:1-24)
Main Point: When I’m afraid, I can trust God.
Memory Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

This week, kids learned about Gideon, who felt afraid when God asked him to do something big. Gideon didn’t feel ready, and he wasn’t sure what would happen next. But God reminded Gideon that He would be with him. Gideon’s story shows us that trusting God doesn’t mean we won’t feel afraid — it means choosing to believe God is with us and taking a step forward even when we’re scared.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. Why did Gideon feel afraid when God asked him to do something?

  2. What did God promise Gideon?

  3. Share something that makes you feel afraid. How can you trust God even though that thing is scary?

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Tell your kid, “Even if something feels scary today, you can trust God. He’s got this.”

  • While You’re At Home: Share about a time you felt afraid but trusted God anyway.

  • As You’re On The Way: Ask, “What helps you remember to trust God when you feel afraid?”

  • When You Lie Down: Pray, “God, thank You for always being with us. Help us trust You even when we feel afraid and don’t know what will happen. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
