May Overview: Throughout the Bible, we see God’s people showing care for others. Through these stories, kids will discover five different ways they can show care for the people around them.

Bible Story: The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)
Main Point: I can care for others by helping.
Memory Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

This week, kids learned caring for others means noticing when someone needs help and choosing to step in. When a man was hurt on the road, others walked past him, but the Good Samaritan stopped and helped. Sometimes it’s easy to ignore people who need help, especially if we’re busy or they’re different from us. This story teaches kids that helping is one important way we can show care.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What happened to the man in the story?

  2. Why do you think some people walked by? Who decided to stop and help the man?

  3. What is one way you can help someone this week?

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Tell your kid, “Look for someone you can help today.”

  • While You’re At Home: Find one simple way to help someone in your family.

  • As You’re On The Way: Ask, “What are some ways we help others when we’re at ________?” (e.g., school, the store, the park, etc.)

  • When You Lie Down: Pray, “God, help us care for others by noticing their needs and choosing to help. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
