What We Are Learning In Elementary :: May Week 4
May Overview: Throughout the Bible, we see God’s people showing care for others. Through these stories, kids will discover five different ways they can show care for the people around them.
Bible Story: Boaz Shares with Ruth (Ruth 2:5-9)
Main Point: I can care for others by sharing.
Memory Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.
This week, kids learned sharing what we have is one way we can show care. When Ruth needed food for her and Naomi, Boaz made sure she had more than enough. Sometimes sharing can feel hard, especially if we’re worried there won’t be enough left for us. This story helps kids see that sharing is a way to help others feel seen and loved.
💬 Family discussion questions:
What did Boaz do for Ruth?
Why can sharing be hard sometimes?
What is something or who is someone you can share with this week?
🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:
When You Get Up: Say, “Look for something you can share today.”
While You’re At Home: Point out specific ways your family can share with each other. (e.g., playing with toys, taking turns, around the dinner table, etc.)
As You’re On The Way: Ask, “How does sharing show we care?”
When You Lie Down: Pray, “God, thank You for what You’ve given us. Help us share with others. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
