May Overview: Throughout the Bible, we see God’s people showing care for others. Through these stories, kids will discover five different ways they can show care for the people around them.

Bible Story: The Shunammite Woman (2 Kings 4:8-37)
Main Point: I can care for others by inviting.
Memory Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

This week, kids learned inviting others is a simple but powerful way to care. When the Shunammite woman saw Elisha, she invited him into her home and created a place for him to rest. Sometimes caring looks like noticing someone and making them feel welcome. This story helps kids see that inviting others to sit with us, play with us, or join us can make a big difference.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What did the woman do for Elisha?

  2. How can inviting someone make them feel cared for?

  3. Who is someone you can invite this week?

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Say, “You can invite someone and make them feel welcome today.”

  • While You’re At Home: Talk about ways to invite and include others.

  • As You’re On The Way: Ask, “Why is inviting others important?”

  • When You Lie Down: Pray, “God, help us notice others and make them feel welcome. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
