November Overview: Everything we have comes from God and belongs to Him. God trusts us to take care of what He gives us, including our money. This month, kids will learn how to honor God with what He has entrusted to them by taking good care of it, giving faithfully, saving wisely, spending wisely, and living generously.

Bible Story: The Parable of the Bags of Gold (Matthew 25:14-30)
Main Point: I can take care of what God gives me.
Memory Verse: “Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” 1 Chronicles 29:14b

As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

In Jesus' parable of the bags of gold, a master trusted three servants with different amounts of money while he was away. Two servants put what they had been given to work, but the third servant buried his money and did nothing with it. When the master returned, he was pleased with the servants who had used what he entrusted to them well. This story reminds us everything we have comes from God, and He trusts us to take care of it. Being a good steward means recognizing what we have belongs to God and choosing to manage it well. When we take care of what God gives us, we show Him we're grateful for what He's entrusted to us.

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. How do you think the servants felt when their master trusted them with something valuable?

  2. What was different about the way the servants chose to use what they had been given?

  3. What's something God has given you that you could do a better job taking care of?

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: Remind your kid, “Everything you have comes from God, and He trusts you to take care of what He gives you!”

  • While You’re At Home: Choose something in your home that God has provided for your family. Talk about ways you can take good care of it and show God you're grateful for it.

  • As You’re On The Way: Ask, “What's one thing God has trusted you to take care of? What does taking good care of it look like?”

  • When You Lie Down: Pray, “God, thank You for everything You give us. Help us remember that it all comes from You and to take good care of what You trust us with. We love You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.”
