What We Are Learning In Elementary :: September Week 2
September Overview: God made us on purpose and for a purpose — to show Him in all we do. As we follow God, His Spirit helps us grow and live differently. This month, kids are continuing to learn they can show God to others through how they act, speak, and treat people every day.
Bible Story: David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17:32-37, 45-47)
Main Point: I can show God to others when I show faithfulness.
Memory Verse: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)
As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.
This week, kids learned about the moment David faced Goliath. While everyone else was afraid, David remembered how God had helped him in the past, and he trusted God to be with him again. He stayed faithful to God and confidently stepped into what God had called him to do. This story reminds us that faithfulness means continuing to trust and obey God, even when life feels uncertain or difficult. When we stay committed to following God, we show others what He is like.
💬 Family discussion questions:
Why do you think David was brave enough to face Goliath?
What do you think it means to be faithful to God?
What are some ways we can show faithfulness?
🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:
When You Get Up: Tell your kid, "You can trust God today because He is always faithful."
While You’re At Home: Share about a time when you chose to be faithful even though it was hard.
As You’re On The Way: Ask, "What are some ways we can stay faithful to God every day?"
When You Lie Down: Pray, "God, thank You for always being faithful to us. Help us trust You, obey You, and stay committed to following You no matter what happens. We love You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen."
