April Overview: After Easter, preschoolers will learn that Jesus is alive and wants to be their friend. Jesus didn’t just come long ago — He is with us now. Through true Bible stories, kids will see that Jesus loves them, helps them, and wants to be with them. Jesus is the best friend ever!

As a family, read Martha and Mary (Luke 10:38-42) together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

Bible Story: Martha and Mary (Luke 10:38-42)
Main Point: Jesus always helps me.
Memory Verse: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." John 15:13

This week, children heard about when Jesus came to visit two sisters, Martha and Mary. Martha was busy and worried, but Mary sat and listened to Jesus. Jesus helped Martha understand what was most important. This story helps us understand Jesus always helps us, too!

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What happened in the Bible story? (Jesus came to visit His friends, Mary and Martha, at their home. While Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, Martha cooked and cleaned. Martha was upset, but Jesus helped her know the most important thing was to spend time with Him.)

  2. Jesus wanted to help Martha know the most important thing. Does Jesus always help you too because He’s the best friend ever? (yes)

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: When your child wakes up, say, “Good morning! If you need help today, remember Jesus always helps you!”

  • While You’re At Home: When your child feels busy, frustrated, or needs help, say, “Jesus always helps us. Let’s pray and ask Him to help us right now.”

  • As You’re On The Way: As you drive or walk, say, “Remember, Jesus always helps us! What’s something we can pray about right now and ask for His help?” Then take a moment to pray together.

  • When You Lie Down: At bedtime, ask your child, “Did you need help with anything today?” Remind them, “Jesus will always helps you. It’s what makes Him the best friend ever!” Then pray together, “Dear Jesus, thank You for being the best friend ever, and for helping us. Please help us remember we can always come to You when we need help. We love You. In Your name we pray, amen.”
