What We Are Learning In Preschool :: December Week 1
Main Point: God gave us Jesus.
Bible Story: The Angel and Mary ● Luke 1:26–33, 38
As a family, read “The Angel and Mary” (Luke 1:26–33, 38) from the Bible. CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.
After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:
What happened in the Bible story? (An angel told Mary God loved her and had chosen her to be Jesus’ mother. Jesus would be God’s Son and the Savior of the world. Mary trusted God and said yes to His plan.)
God loves us so much, He gave us Jesus. How do we know God loves us? (God loves us so much He gave us Jesus!)
This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:
Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! I love Christmastime. The lights and decorations remind me God loves us so much He gave us Jesus.”
Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, (child’s name) and I are seeing Christmas decorations everywhere. They remind us that it’s almost Jesus’ birthday! Thank You for giving us Jesus. We love You!”
Bath Time: Play Christmas music and sing while your child bathes. Talk about how Christmas is a time to celebrate God gave us Jesus.
Drive Time: While you’re driving, look for heart shapes. Say, “God loved the world so much, He gave us Jesus!”
