What We Are Learning In Preschool :: June Week 2
June Overview: This month, preschoolers will learn that God can be trusted no matter what happens. Sometimes we feel afraid, sad, or alone. But God is always with us and helps us. God’s got this!
Bible Story: Gideon (Judges 6:1–24)
Main Point: I can trust God when I’m afraid.
Memory Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)
As a family, read the Bible story together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.
This week, children heard how Gideon felt afraid when God asked him to do something big. Gideon didn’t feel ready, but God reminded him that He would be with him. This story helps us understand that when we feel afraid, we can trust God because He is always with us.
💬 Family discussion questions:
What happened in the Bible story? (God asked Gideon to do something big, and Gideon felt afraid, but God was with him.)
When Gideon felt afraid, was God with him? (yes)
When you feel afraid, can you trust God? (yes)
🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:
When You Get Up: When your child wakes up, say, “Good morning! If something feels scary today, remember God is with you, and you can trust Him.”
While You’re At Home: When your child feels nervous or unsure, remind them, “God is with you.” Take a moment to pray together and ask God to help them feel brave.
As You’re On The Way: As you drive or walk, talk about something that can feel scary. Then say, “Even when we feel afraid, we can trust God because He is always with us.”
When You Lie Down: At bedtime, remind your child, “God was with you all day today.” Then pray together, “Dear God, thank You for always being with us. Help us trust You when we feel afraid. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
