March Overview: Jesus did big, amazing things because He is God’s Son! He is powerful, and He loves us so much. This month, preschoolers will hear true stories from the Bible to learn about how great Jesus is!

As a family, read “The Big Catch of Fish” (Luke 5:1–8) together. Then, watch this week’s lesson video on the eKidz Online YouTube page to continue the conversation.

Bible Story: The Big Catch of Fish (Luke 5:1–8)
Main Point: Jesus is great, and He can do big things.
Memory Verse: “Lord, there is no one like you! You are great, and your name is full of power.” Jeremiah 10:6 (NLT)

This week, children learned about some fishermen who worked all night and caught nothing. That was a big problem! But when Jesus told them to try again, they obeyed and He did something amazing. Their nets were suddenly overflowing with fish! This story reminds us Jesus is great, and He can do big things, like how He helped the fishermen catch lots of fish!

💬 Family discussion questions:

  1. What happened in the Bible story? (Jesus told the fishermen to put their nets into the water. When they listened to Jesus, they caught so many fish that their nets were full.)

  2. What does this Bible story teach us? (Jesus helped His friends catch more fish than they expected. This shows us that Jesus is great, and He can do big things!)

🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:

  • When You Get Up: When your child wakes up, say, “Good morning! Did you know Jesus is great? He can do big things, and He is always with you.”

  • While You’re At Home: Use toys, stuffed animals, or drawings to retell the Bible story together. Pretend the toys are fishing and say, “When Jesus gave the fishermen instructions, they caught so many fish! Jesus is great, and He can do big things.”

  • As You’re On The Way: As you ride or walk, point out big things you see like buildings, trucks, or trees and say, “Those are big! But Jesus is even greater, and He can do big things.”

  • When You Lie Down: At bedtime, pray together, “Dear Jesus, thank You for being so great. Thank You for showing us You can do big things. Help us trust You every day. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
