What We Are Learning In Preschool :: May Week 2
May Overview: The Bible teaches us how to care for others. In the Bible, we see God’s people — and Jesus — showing care by praying, helping, forgiving, sharing, and inviting others. This month, preschoolers will learn we can care for others too!
Bible Story: The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)
Main Point: I can care for others by helping.
Memory Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” Ephesians 4:32a

This week, children heard about a man who was hurt on the road. While others walked past, a Samaritan man stopped and helped him. This story teaches us we can care for others by helping when someone needs it.
💬 Family discussion questions:
What happened in the Bible story? (A man was hurt, and a Samaritan man helped him.)
How can we care for others? (By helping them.)
🕰 Engage in everyday moments together this week:
When You Get Up: Say, “Good morning! Let’s look for ways to help others today.”
While You’re At Home: Help clean up or do a chore together and say, “We’re helping! When we help, we can care for others!”
As You’re On The Way: Point out helpers and say, “They are caring for others. When we care for others, we show them love.”
When You Lie Down: At bedtime, ask your child, “Who did you help today?” Then pray together, “Dear God, thank You for helping us care for others. Please show us ways to help people every day. Help us have kind and helpful hearts. We love You. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
