It Was A Good Fight

Conversation Starters
How do you generally feel about fighting? Do you shy away from conflict? Do you instigate it? Do you sometimes feel like a magnet for conflict or drama?
Paul wrote to one of the people he treasured most when he was at the end of his life. Who are some of the people you treasure the most in your life?

Make It Personal
Which of the three good fights stood out most to you?
How you see Jesus
How Jesus sees you
How you see you
LB shared that a good fight doesn’t need a good outcome. Do you tend to put your faith in what God is doing in the fight or that he will give you the outcome you desire?
LB said that, “If you want to know what your faith is in, look at what you are fighting for.” What have you been fighting for recently?
Is what you’ve been fighting for a good fight? If it is not, what can you do this week to lay down your weapons?
In your everyday life, how do you see Jesus? What do you believe to be true about Him? What influences how you see Jesus?
Read 2 Timothy 3:16. Share how you can become more familiar with the scriptures and use them to fight your fight and put the enemy in his place.
Shame can be a powerful obstacle to your ability to see yourself the way Jesus sees you. Read Philippians 3:12-14 together. What do you need to let go of from your past to pursue what God is calling you to in the future?
Act On It
LB shared that sometimes we have to “Get up and go back.” We need to pick ourselves up from the messes we have made. When we ask God to show us how He saw us in those moments and how He sees us now, His answer is never anything short of His beloved child. Review some scriptures that describe how God sees you. Write a list to remind yourself of these truths that you can look back on when your shame keeps you from embracing this reality. Here are a few verses to get you started:
Prayer Requests And Prayer
Ask eGroup members to share any prayer requests they have. Record any notes or prayer requests to pray for each other during the week. God, thank You for not being limited by who we think You are. You are so much greater than we can even imagine. Please help us embrace who we are in You and to see ourselves the way You see us. Help us to fight the good fight with faithfulness and not to waste our time and energy fighting battles that aren’t worth it. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
