Sermon Highlights

  • My heart is a stringed instrument that has to be tuned to truth.

  • Setting your heart is a decision, not a default. You can’t set it and forget it.

  • In every season of my life, there's a possibility that my heart goes out of tune.

  • If the enemy can detune your heart, he can destroy your life.

  • Before you trash it, tune it!

  • Get ready for what you’re gonna do when you’re in tune!

Scriptures

Sermon Discussion

Conversation Starter

  • Pastor Steven shared how he and Holly have funny nicknames for each other in their phones. What nicknames do you have in your phone for people?

Sermon Reflection

  • What part of the sermon was just for you?

Discussion Questions

Think of a recent transition in your life:

  • How is God calling you to re-tune your heart to Him for this season?

  • What do you need to let go of or start doing in order to do that?

Additional Questions

  • What is something you have been tempted to trash or give up on? How has retuning your heart to God’s truth changed your perspective on it?

  • “You can’t set it and forget it.” Where have you forgotten to tune your heart to God and need to refocus on Him?

  • “If the enemy can detune your heart, he can destroy your life.” What other voices have you been distracted by? How can you identify them and tune to God instead?

Prayer Prompt

Ask this question to your eGroup and include it as part of your closing prayer:

In what areas do you feel out of tune with God’s grace and truth?

Pray for your members to be in tune with God’s will and for God to show them His heart. Pray that they are willing to let go of the beliefs that are holding them back from being in tune with God.
