Sermon Highlights

  • The most important things that will happen in your life this year will not be a part of your plan.

  • Every time you are tempted to complain, it is an invitation to create.

  • Presence is my plan this year.

  • God wants to help you get it back.

  • The place where you meet with God is the place where you need Him the most.

  • God says: “I’ll be what you need me to be whenever you need it – I’m your Plan B(e).”

  • God doesn’t just want to be with you when you build it; He wants to be with you when it breaks.

  • I don’t just want His permission, His provision, or my plan. I want His presence.

  • “Presence is my plan this year.” Share one practical step you can take to bring the presence of God with you into your everyday moments this year.

Additional Questions

  • “The most important things that will happen in your life this year will not be a part of your plan.” Share something important you’ve seen God do that wasn’t a part of your original plan.

  • “God wants to help you get it back.” What are you believing God will help you reclaim this year?

  • “The place you meet with God is the place where you need Him the most.” Where in your life do you need to invite God’s presence the most this year?

Prayer Prompt

Ask this question to your eGroup and include it as part of your closing prayer:

Pastor Steven taught us: “God doesn’t just want to be with you when you build it; He wants to be with you when it breaks.” God wants to be a part of every aspect of our lives – even the areas that break and don’t go according to plan.

Ask your eGroup, “Where will you focus on inviting God’s help this week?” Pray that each person will bring God into their everyday moments this week, even in the broken places. Pray God meets them in those places, and that each member will reach out and grab what God provides.
