Middle School YTHX – Worship Experience #2
DISCUSSION GOAL:
You don’t have to recognize God’s voice perfectly to respond to Him faithfully.

Read 1 Samuel 3:1-11.
Read John 10:27.
Additional Passages: Psalm 100:3, Jeremiah 1:5, Hebrews 11:6,
GROUP DISCUSSION: Explore The Scripture
Read 1 Samuel 3:4-8. How many times did God call Samuel before Samuel recognized His voice? What does that teach you about God's patience?
Samuel didn't know for sure it was God, but he still answered. What does that show us about responding to God when we don't have everything figured out?
Read 1 Samuel 3:9-10. How did Samuel respond when God called again? What changed between the beginning of the story and the end?
Read John 10:27. Jesus says His sheep listen to His voice. How do you think we do that as followers of Christ?
GROUP DISCUSSION: Apply It To Your Life
Sometimes we wait until we're 100% sure before taking a step of faith. Why do you think God often asks us to trust Him before we have all the answers?
It can be easy to give up when we don't see God working right away. What's one area where you need to "answer again" this week? (e.g., praying again, reading your Bible again, inviting a friend to church, worshiping again, taking a step of obedience, etc.)
PRAYER PROMPT:
“God, thank You for loving us and for speaking to us. Help us recognize Your voice more clearly as we spend time with You. Give us the courage to say "yes" to You, even when we don't have all the answers or know what comes next. This week, help us keep answering You. Thank You for always calling us closer. We love You. In Jesus' name, amen.”
