Raised to life in Christ: Get baptized at Elevation

Baptism is an important step of obedience in the life of a believer. Getting baptized is not the source of our salvation, but it’s the public declaration of our commitment to follow Jesus and live in alignment with His word. Baptism symbolizes the forgiveness of our sins and our new life in Christ. It’s something to be celebrated and a special moment in a believer’s walk with Christ, marking a new chapter in their faith journey.

And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.'

Acts 22:16 | ESV

Should I get baptized?

For believers in Jesus, baptism is about following His example. In Matthew 3:16, we see Jesus getting baptized before beginning His ministry. In doing so, He set the model for all believers to follow. When we get baptized, we take a step of obedience that aligns with God’s word (Matthew 28:19).

Baptism also symbolizes what Christ has done for us. Just as Jesus died, was buried, and rose again, baptism represents leaving behind our old way of life and the beginning of a new life in Him (Romans 6:4).

Celebrating God’s faithfulness

Since 2006, we've witnessed countless stories of God's faithfulness, and we're grateful those stories aren't only in our past but are still unfolding right in front of us.

Over the years, we've baptized thousands of people across our campuses, on rooftops during Pop-Up experiences, in prisons, in backyard swimming pools, and beyond.

Each baptism is a powerful testament to God's faithfulness and an opportunity to share the life-changing message of the gospel. We celebrate these moments in a huge way because they remind us of the incredible impact we can achieve when the family of God rallies together in love, faith, and obedience to His calling.

FAQs

Baptism is a powerful symbol of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. It represents the transformation you’ve experienced in Christ - your old life is gone, and you're raised to new life with Him (Colossians 2:12). Just as Jesus was raised from the dead, baptism symbolizes the new life you've begun as a follower of Jesus.

While baptism doesn’t make you a believer, it’s a step of obedience and a public declaration of an inward decision to follow Jesus.

Yes! Any child who has made a decision to follow Jesus can be baptized. We encourage parents to talk with their children about the meaning and significance of baptism.

If you’ve decided to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, understand the significance of baptism and can freely choose to be baptized - you’re the right age! If you’re wondering whether your child is ready, check out our conversation guide for children and baptism.

Believers should consider baptism if they have not been baptized after making a personal decision to follow Jesus. If you were baptized as an infant or before fully understanding the meaning of baptism, we encourage you to take this step as a reflection of your own faith and commitment to Jesus.
