Conversation Starters
Tim Somers shared that his five-year-old has so much confidence that he thinks he can beat his 15-year-old brother in a wrestling match. What areas of your life are you most confident in?
Share about a time when you kept on failing, but never gave up. This might’ve been learning something new (like a sport or hobby) or searching for a job or house.

Make It Personal
How would you describe your ability to roll with the punches?
Have you experienced times of earnest seeking, where you focused on drawing near to God? What does it look like to earnestly seek God in your day-to-day?
“We forget the importance of the church and consider it jewelry, not oxygen.” How would you describe your attitude toward church? Is it a priority or an afterthought? Is church a critical part of your week, or just somewhere you like to go when it is convenient?
Read Hebrews 10:19-25. How can you realign your perspective to recognize the church as a life-giving and vital resource? Are there ways you could adjust your investment in the church to help be THAT resource for others (maybe through serving, inviting someone to church, or giving to further all God is doing)?
God doesn’t give us a step-by-step playbook. Sometimes, He will send angels to help us, but we have to take the steps that we’re able to take. What paths has God cleared for you, and what steps have you had to take to move forward? What miracle is God doing for you right now, and what step is He asking you to take?
When Peter came to his senses and reflected back on the ways the angel helped him, he recognized all God had done for him. When you look back on key moments in your life, where can you see God working?
Go Deeper
Since we know how the events in the Bible unfolded, we sometimes miss how difficult they would’ve been for the people experiencing them. Read Hebrews 11. This is often referred to as the “Hall of Faith,” because it describes individuals from the Old Testament who demonstrated great faith. Pick one or two of these individuals and discuss what it might’ve been like to live through their challenges and still hold on to your faith.
Act On It
Come to your SENSES: Write out some of the ways God has moved in your life that remind you that He’s been with you and will continue to be there. Now, write out the things that you’re currently believing God for. Pick a verse below to meditate on as you work to strengthen your faith through any doubts, questions, or confusion that you may face while waiting for God to move.
Prayer Requests And Prayer
Ask each eGroup member to share any prayer requests they have. Take notes and share them so that you can pray for each other during the week.God, thank you for sustaining us through difficult seasons. We’re grateful that even though we sometimes struggle with doubt, you still care for us and hold us up. We know that we wouldn’t be here without you. Help us to remember the miracles you’ve done for us in the past and give us the courage to keep going when things are tough. We give you all the glory and praise for the work you’ve done in our lives and have faith that since you got us here, you won’t stop caring for us now! In Jesus’ name, amen.
