“The doors of tomorrow’s opportunity swing on the hinges of today’s obedience.”

Discussion Questions
Pastor Steven told us that to see what God is doing in our lives, we have to be obedient, open, and obnoxious. Which of these is the most challenging for you? What can you try this week to help you grow in this area?
“The doors of tomorrow’s opportunity swing on the hinges of today’s obedience.” Like the Shunamite woman, in what ways can you be obedient today so that the dreams God has given you for your future can be realized?
Additional Questions
“Sometimes we can’t see what God is doing because our hearts are so crowded with what we think He should be doing.” How could you make space this week for God to work? (Ex: Limiting time on social media so you can spend more time in prayer; letting go of the to-do list to allow for flexibility for God to move.)
“What God can do for you isn’t limited to who He is, since there is nothing He can’t do, but whether you’ve given Him room to do it.” How willing are you to let go of familiar patterns to allow God to do something great in your life?
“Hope and disappointment swing on the same hinges.” Many times circumstances in our lives lead to disappointments that we carry with us and prevent us from embracing hope and receiving what God is speaking into our lives. What can you do to release disappointment and bitterness so you can be more open to His work in you?
Prayer Prompt
Ask this question to your eGroup and include it as part of your closing prayer:
What dreams has God put in your heart? What disappointments do you need to let go of to embrace hope for what God can do to fulfill some of those dreams this year?
Pray that each person will release bitterness and disappointment so they can embrace hope. Also, pray that they will be receptive to God’s knocking and move forward in what He is calling them to do.
